ಭಾರತದ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳು
ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಸರಕಾರದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥನಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಯು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಂಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥನಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಯನ್ನು ಆ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ವಿಧಾನ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹುಮತ ಪಡೆದ ಪಕ್ಷ ಅಥವಾ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಶಾಸಕರು ಆರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇವರ ಅಧಿಕಾರಾವಧಿ ೫ ವರ್ಷ, ಪುನರಾಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗುವ ಅವಕಾಶವಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ರಾಜ್ಯಪಾಲರು ಸರಕಾರದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಆದರೆ ಅವರ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಸಲಹಾಕಾರ ಮಾತ್ರವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಸರಕಾರದ ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಹಿ ಹಾಕುವದು ಮತ್ತು ಸಲಹೆ ಕೊಡುವದು ಮಾತ್ರವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
