The nearest sound in languages that do not possess it is usually 'k' or sometimes 'h'. (e.g. in the Greek derived English words chorus, or character). And the 'tion' part is not analogous to those from the Latin derived 'nation' type words. Hence a better transliteration might be ಕರಿತಿಒನ್.
