Note: Although this template is still somewhat experimental,[when?] it will not do major damage if accidentally saved into the rendered article, but sometimes it might slow down page rendering.
The {{Reflistp}} template, as its name implies, creates a reference list preview. This template address the difficulty in verifying how new and changed references will display when the Reference section is not in the section you are editing. Editors have tried to work around this by temporarily adding {{Reflist}} to preview the parsed form of the references while they are editing, intending to remove the template before saving their changes. If they forget, the result often looks awkward, with two or more reference lists scattered around the page.
You can prevent this by using the {{Reflistp}} template for reference list previews instead of a {{Reflist}} that you might forget to delete, since {{Reflistp}} will only display the resulting list of formatted references when the article is in edit preview mode.
When to leave or remove the template ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿ
To prevent unnecessary clutter in the editable version of an article, this template should still be removed before changes are saved, but because its result is suppressed in the saved version of the article, the {{Reflistp}} template is less disruptive to the article than a misplaced {{Reflist}} would be if accidentally left undeleted.
Any subsequent editor finding this template in an article should feel free to remove it unless a hidden comment requests that you don't or says an editor is working on the article on and off. To make such a request or comment, use <!-- hidden comment --> with your own text replacing "hidden comment."
Saving a section with the template accidentally left in will add a hidden comment to the article to aid in the location of the section. To show this section,[clarification needed] you may style it however you like, with class="bad-reflist" and default style="display: none;".
Also if the section is saved with the template accidentally left in it, the page will be added to ವರ್ಗ:Pages with a transclusion of Template:Reflistp that should be removed Currently, there are ೦ articles in that category.
Where to place this template ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿ
Note that {{Reflistp}} may be added to the end of multiple sections if it's anticipated that editing will bounce around among sections.
If you (or you and other editors who have left hidden comments) are switching between editing one or more sections and the full article, you can prevent the reference list preview in those sections from appearing in the previews when editing the full article. To do this, add another instance of {{Reflistp}} at the very top of the article.
Technically, you could put it anywhere before the first occurrence of any reference will work, but the very top is the most secure place to put it. For complex technical reasons too complex to explain here[clarification needed] this causes all instances of {{Reflistp}} to output nothing during a full-article preview, yet output the refs for an individual section during an edit of that section.
