ಚರ್ಚೆಪುಟ:ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆ

"ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆ" or "ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ದೇವತೆ"?

Forgive me, my Kannada is not good at all but as someone who is still connected to the Kannada sphere by family I am still intrigued. So today I was listening to the songs from ಅಮೆರಿಕಾ ಅಮೆರಿಕಾ (good choice for the Fourth of July, ಇದ್ರೆ ನಾನು ದೇಶ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆ after all) and noticed the lyrics said "ನ್ಯೂ ಯಾರ್ಕ್ ನಗರದ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ದೇವತೆ" (link @ 3:33). However, the articled is titled "ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆ", which seems to be too literal of a translation. Looking it up on Google, ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆ only gets one hit on a reliable source (ವಿಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ), where is it not really used as a proper noun but more like "a statue of liberty" (in comparison to "a statue of unity", ಏಕತೆಯ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆ). On the other hand, "ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ದೇವತೆ" features in three sources as the name of THE Statue of Liberty (ಪ್ರಜಾವಾಣಿ, ಉದಯವಾಣಿ, TV9). So, is my hunch right in thinking that ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ದೇವತೆ is a more natural and common name? Or is the original term or some other term used in Kannada most of the time?
