ಜವಾಹರ‌ಲಾಲ್ ನೆಹರು: ಪರಿಷ್ಕರಣೆಗಳ ನಡುವಿನ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸ

1955 ರಲ್ಲಿ, ಭಾರತದ ಅತ್ಯುನ್ನತ ನಾಗರಿಕ ಗೌರವವಾದ ಭಾರತ ರತ್ನವನ್ನು ನೆಹರು ಅವರಿಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಮಂತ್ರಿಯಿಂದ ಸಲಹೆ ಪಡೆಯದೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿ ರಾಜೇಂದ್ರ ಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಅವರು ನೆಹರು ಅವರಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಈ ಗೌರವ ಪ್ರದಾನ ಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರಧಾನಿಯವರಿಂದ ಪಡೆಯಬೇಕಾಗಿದ್ದ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಸಾಂವಿಧಾನಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯವಿಧಾನವನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಎಂದರೆ ನೆಹರು ಪ್ರಧಾನಿಯಾಗಿ ತಮಗೆ ತಾವೇ ನಾಗರಿಕ ಗೌರವ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಶಿಪಾರಸು ಮಾಡಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ವಿಶೇಷ ಅಧಿಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿ ರಾಜೇಂದ್ರ ಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಅವರು ತಾವೇ ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿ ಆಗೌರವವನ್ನು ನೆಹರು ಅವರಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
