ಲೈಕಾ

ಲೈಕಾ (ಮೊದಲ ಹೆಸರು ಕುದ್ರ್ಯಾವ್ಕಾ) ಎಂಬ ನಾಯಿ ಬಾಹ್ಯಾಕಾಶವನ್ನು ತಲುಪಿದ ಮೊದಲ ಜೀವಿ. ೧೯೫೭ರ ನವೆಂಬರ್ ೩ರಂದು ಸೋವಿಯತ್ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಸ್ಪುಟ್ನಿಕ್ ೨ ಗಗನ ನೌಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದು ಪಯಣ ಬೆಳೆಸಿತು. ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಬರುವ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲವಾದ ಕಾರಣ ಇದು ಅಂತರಿಕ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಸಾವನ್ನಪ್ಪಿತು.
